With everything going on I wanted to ease the load for alllll my couples looking to elope on Oahu, Hawaii and give you the absolute BEST suggestions + my top recommendations for vendors to consider. I know you want this day to be as STRESSFREE as possible. So my goal is to create an easy guide that will make your Elopement as seamless as possible & go on without a hitch!!!

If you need help planning your Elopement from afar, have questions about the rules + regulations, or don’t know who to hire to take care of you from start to finish with the best client experience this blog post is for YOU! I will guide you through the entire process. Don’t worry I got your back and I know exactly what you need and will give you all the info. + support you need along the way. Let’s do this thing!!!

1. LEGALLY GETTING MARRIED

First & foremost, let’s address Eloping and making it OFFICIAL. You will need to get a marriage license and to start the process you can file out the application for a marriage license online. You will have to fill out the application and have a current ID (license/passport) at the time of filing before your arrival or date. Once you arrive or as the date gets near you will pick it up from: Hawaii State Department of Health at 1250 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu. After getting married the officant will file your Marriage license. Lastly, it will be mailed 4-6 weeks after you get married and it costs a small fee of $65 to file.

If you need guidance to where exactly you need to register: here is the link to applying for a marriage license. It will go over all the information regarding legally having your marriage license and the steps to do so. Things to consider: picking up the documents from Honolulu it is only open Monday-Friday 8AM-4PM and closed on holidays so plan accordingly If you should need a permit to get married at a beach or venue of your choice, here is permit rules for Hawaii.

2. OFFICIANT:

Now that you have the legality of getting married on Oahu, Hawaii let’s go over an officiant! It wouldn’t be complete without the perfect officiant to help guide + direct you, file your certificate and speak life into your vows and I have just the AMAZING woman to do so: https://www.lovealwaysweddingshawaii.com/

Wesley is a very talented officant that I work close by with time and time again. She is a non-traditional Elopement + Wedding officiant and she tailors your ceremony script directly to you and your story.

3. FLORISTS:

I am OBSESSED with amazing bouquets, lei po’os and even an arch filled with flowers + lush greenery just sets the entire TONE and VIBE to an Elopement. It would not be complete without the perfect company to take care of you and being in the industry for so long I have worked with a ton of florists and there are my absolute FAV on Oahu that I cannot recommend enough: Ocean Dreamer, Summer Reign Floral & Puaka’ie Floristry!

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve worked with these TALENTED women and how stunned I am every single time they do not dissapoint and I am grateful that I get to work with them and highly recommend to all my couples looking for hawaiian tropical florals.

4. HAIR + MAKEUP ARTIST:

You know I couldn’t leave out hair + makeup artist because with any given event and especially eloping, hair + makeup in the hot weather of Hawaii is HIGHLY needed. To complete the look I know just the girls to blow you away and make you look absolutely BEAUTIFUL on your BIG DAY!

Whether you are looking for a more natural look or want FULL GLAM these girls are for YOU: Cheryl Brown, Reinee Maye (makeup only), Manda Norstrand, Sheri Duncan, & Erika Kalaikai. I don’t know about you but I like to have OPTIONS so I listed all my fav. women to take care of you and I truly trust them to make your look complete! Please inquire early on with there HMUA, because there availability goes fast sometimes and you want to have first pick of course!

I would love to photograph your Elopement here in Hawaii and me & my team got your BACK! From start to finish you can expect an impeccable client experience and photos that will truly take your breath away! I GOT YOU COVERED!

**This blog post would not be complete if I left this out and my goal is to ALWAYS be transparent as possible. Coming to Hawaii is truly BREATHTAKING, it is one of the most popular places to vacation & get married in the world and where everyone DREAMS to live. With that being said, it is only given that it comes with a price. With living in one of the most expensive places in the world I wanted to point out that many visitors hope that prices reflect the same of where they are from and typically it is the exact opposite.

This is just a heads up whether you are looking for accommodation, travel, vendors or so forth. As a local photographer, I am born & raised here on Oahu, Hawaii so for me, it is what I have known and am used to. But for other visitors, I come to understand that the price point doesn’t come cheap. So I want to be transparent and finish off this article with this knowledge piece. HOWEVER, with eloping, you are saving money by not paying catering for all your guests, a bigger venue and so forth. So the few vendors you decide to be apart of your day you have FULL permission to splurge on the local vendors you are getting to make your day and experience INCREDIBLE!!!!***

There ya have it, lady & folks, all of the info + knowledge to help you plan a seamless elopement. If you need help furthermore on how to elope on Oahu, Hawaii feel free to reach out to me for guidance! I have done this countless times and I LOVE being able to serve my couples and help them along their journey! This is your big day and I want the absolute BEST for you to look back at this countless times. So make the most of it your epic Hawaii Elopement! LET’S DO THE DANG THING!
