Getting to know your photographer is so important! That’s why using the same photographer for your engagement and wedding photos is key to having a smooth, comfortable, and cohesive experience.
Beach Engagement Photos
These romantic beach engagement photos were such a dream! Chloe and Zion booked me to photograph their wedding in February 2024 and also just got to capture their engagement photos last month in August. They wanted something laid-back, relaxed, and tropical – so we headed to the North Shore of Oahu for a stunning sunset session with their cutest and newest addition to the fam.
Using The Same Photographer
Even though it’s not necessary (or even realistic sometimes) but I always recommend using the same photographer to capture both your engagement and wedding photos because there are so many benefits to it! Even if you’ve already taken engagement photos, you can always do a fun and laid-back day-before session to get to know your photographer and have more memories captured on your journey as husband and wife.
By using the same photographer for both, you ensure that your wedding day photos will be the best they can be because of the familiarity and trust that you built during your engagement session with your photographer.
1) Getting to know your photographer
Engagement sessions are the perfect opportunity to not only capture such a beautiful milestone in your life, but also allow you to get to know the photographer, build trust, and become comfortable in front of the camera. It matters who’s taking the photos because each photographer works differently and it’s good to get a feel and get acquainted with the photos!
2) Cohesive wedding and engagement photos
This ensures a cohesive style and aesthetic for all your engagement and wedding shots. Not only that but experiencing an engagement shoot and seeing the photos secures all faith in your photographer to capture your special day beautifully and seamlessly without you having to worry.
3) Know what to expect
Every photographer works differently, so by using the same team – your wedding day photography will feel that much more easy, comfortable, and relaxed. By the time your wedding day rolls around, you know what to expect when it comes to direction, communication, style, and everything else in between.
