Waimea Bay Engagement Session. MY TYPE OF PEOPLE!!!! I completely VIBE with couples that are 1000% down to get in the water, laidback, go with the flow and say YES to any ideas that come their way! This couple just got engaged recently and I was looking for some lovers to capture during my mentor session, they reached out to me and I immediately said let’s do the dang thing!!! My mentee and I had the honor to meet Sydney + Jake that evening and shoot this session at Pupukea, Hawaii. Honestly one of my absolute FAVORITE places to shoot at- Waimea Bay.

I started off by teaching my mentee prompts/poses to help direct our couple and keep them feeling super candid + natural moments with our couple. We played some music from a speaker, ran around with them, got soaking wet, talked about all things business and life. Not to mention got to capture the most EPIC SUNSET!!!! After working with our couple we headed to a local shop for our business chat portion.

During that time we talked about all things BUSINESS including: how to become a legal business, posing vs. prompts, pricing yourself, Website Design, Camera Settings, Lighting, Target Marketing, Finding your Dream Clients, My Journey on how I got started in the business and life lessons. Not to mention we wrapped up with setting 3 goals for her to improve on in the following months to COMPLETELY move the needle for her business and CHANGE THE GAME!!!

Literally, the next few weeks my mentee thanked me 10 times, left me the sweetest review, sent me how AMAZING her edits + photos turned out post mentor session AND booked her very FIRST outer island shoot when she’s only been in photography for MONTHS. WOW!!!! If that doesn’t prove how crucial it is to invest in your business, I don’t know what is. THIS GIRL KILLED IT! Looking back at these photos makes me so dang happy I get to educate other photographers how to make their passion into a FULL BLOWN BUSINESS.
